Drag Race’s Phoenix Claps Back At Ice Spice After Her “Legendary” Comment

The season three queen took to Instagram to talk about her critique from the guest judge during the premiere episode of All Stars 10…

Only two episodes into RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 and we already have our first feud…but it’s not in the Werk Room. In episode one of the Tournament of All Stars, the orange bracket (Aja, Bosco, DeJa Skye, Irene the Alien, Olivia Lux, Phoenix) competed in a rock n’ roll music video maxi-challenge.

On the main stage, the queens were critiqued by extra special guest judge Ice Spice, who threw some major shade at season three queen Phoenix.

“I hear you’re a legendary icon, but tonight I don’t think I would have been able to tell with how shy you were,” the rapper said.

“Okay. Yep. Great. Smile and nod,” Phoenix said in her confessional while looking as though she was about to cry on the mainstage.

Shortly after the premiere, the queen clapped back at the Grammy nominated star. In an Instagram Story, Phoenix expressed her love and appreciation to fans who came to her defense and noted her icon status comes from her contribution to the community.

She went on to write, “I’m perfectly fine not getting ‘icon’ validation from someone who’s ‘fame’ has come from one song about shitting and farting.” The statement referred to Ice Spice’s song Think U The Shit (Fart), which was the episode’s lip sync song.

On Sunday, Phoenix released another statement on Instagram Stories writing, “I honestly can’t explain how appreciative I am for the love that some of you fans are sending…Also how grateful I am for my sisters that have reached out to me…”

While Pheonix is getting a wave of support, other Drag Race fans are defending the guest judge saying the rapper was just doing her job.

It’s safe to say the OG queens are bringing the drama off-screen this season. Last week, Nicole Paige Brooks may have broken her NDA revealing that Lydia B. Kollins replaced Maddy Morphisis at the last minute on the show.
