Canada's Drag Race's Océane Aqua-Black Drops Empowering New Dance Anthem

Canada’s Drag Race’s Océane Aqua-Black Drops Empowering New Dance Anthem “Fake Ass Bitch (F.A.B)”

The just-released track features fellow Drag Race queens Kween Kong, Ra’Jah O’Hara, and Silky Nutmeg Ganache…

Montreal-based drag icon and Canada’s Drag Race fan favourite Océane Aqua-Black is louder, prouder, and more unapologetic than ever in her fierce new single, “Fake Ass Bitch (F.A.B.).” Featuring powerhouse collaborators Kween Kong, Ra’Jah O’Hara, and Silky Nutmeg Ganache, this just-released anthem is a declaration of self-love, authenticity, and unshakable confidence. With razor-sharp lyrics and a pulsing dancefloor beat, “F.A.B.” invites listeners to cast off the masks and stand tall in their truth: flaws, fire, and all.

“‘A fake ass bitch’ is someone who hides,” Océane explains. “Someone who lies to make themselves seem better than they really are. ‘F.A.B.’ is the opposite of that. It’s about owning every part of who you are, especially the parts people try to shame or silence.”

The inspiration for “F.A.B.” was born during a moment of deep personal doubt for Aqua-Black. After over two decades in drag, she found herself questioning her place in an ever-evolving drag scene. “I was at my lowest,” she admits. “But connecting with my Drag Race sisters at DragCon, basking in their warmth and solidarity, sparked a powerful shift and reminded me that I’m still a fabulous, powerful woman.” She set out to create a celebration of that rediscovery and knew she had to call in the baddest queens to help her do it.

Enter Ra’Jah O’Hara, reigning queen of Canada vs. the World, the fierce and commanding Kween Kong of Drag Race Down Under, and the incomparable RuPaul’s Drag Race All Star Silky Nutmeg Ganache. “I sent them each a preview of what I had in mind and they were all in,” Océane recalls. “These queens are powerhouses.  They each contributed verses that brought the exact energy the song needed.”

Produced by acclaimed music producer Velvet Code, “F.A.B.” pulses with a blend of hip-hop grit and high-gloss electro-pop, drawing influence from artists like Todrick Hall. “Velvet and I went through several rounds to land on the perfect vibe,” says Océane. “I write all my lyrics, and I wanted every word to reflect the bold, raw, sexy, and real person that I am.”

“F.A.B.” is more than a track.  It’s the next chapter in Océane’s ever-evolving narrative as an artist. Her past singles, “Creampie” and “READDIT,” tackled themes of sexual identity and social media bullying. “This song is about stepping into your full power,” she explains. “No more doubting. No more shrinking. Just owning it.”

The single also makes a powerful statement about Black representation in drag and dance music. “It was important for me to spotlight Black queens from different Drag Race franchises,” Océane says. “Too often, we’re passed over. I wanted to put us front and center and show the world what we can do together.”

“Fake Ass Bitch” marks the beginning of what Océane calls her most exciting era yet. Her debut album, Shameless, is slated for release this fall and will feature additional collaborations with Drag Race stars Vanity Milan, Lady Boom Boom, and Helena Poison. Fans can catch Océane performing “F.A.B.” live on June 20, 2025, at Village Fest in Toronto, with more tour dates and surprises to come.

In the meantime, Océane urges fans to “Put this track on when you need a reminder that you are THAT bitch.  Strut through your city like it’s your runway. Don’t let anyone dim your shine.”
