Fresh off of season 17, Lydia Butthole Kollins is making a U-turn back into the Drag Race werkroom to make her mark on the upcoming season of All Stars 10…
Talk about quick change! Lydia Butthole Kollins has revealed that she only had about five days to prepare and to get her looks package ready for her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10. Lydia is one of the 18 legendary queens battling it out in the brand-new Tournament of All Stars, which is set to premiere on Friday, May 9.
Lydia B. Kollins made her mark on season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, known for her cinematic flair, off-kilter comedy, and the now-iconic reveal that her “B” middle name stood for butthole. Named after Winona Ryder’s character in Beetlejuice, Lydia Deetz, Lydia Butthole Kollins was inspired by a combination of Tim Burton, John Waters and David Lynch. Throughout her time on season 17, which premiered on January 3, 2025, Lydia won one maxi challenge and one mini challenge before being eliminated in episode 11, placing 7th overall.
In a recent interview with The Playlist, Lydia opened up about the super short turnaround time that she had between filming RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17 and filming All Stars 10. When asked how much time did she actually have in between filming both seasons, Lydia revealed the quick turnaround.
“I mean, [RuPaul] did ask me on stage, too. O.K.. I had gotten back from season 17 filming, and it was like three weeks later they called [with the All Stars 10 invite], and I had about five days to a week to sort of get it all prepared and already, but it was chill. I think that if there’s anyone who could do it, it is LBK. So. I don’t know.”
When asked if she had any hesitation about returning to the franchise so soon after her debut, Lydia revealed that she immediately jumped at the opportunity.
“It was an automatic yes. To go back, I feel like you can’t pass up on an opportunity to A, be on TV, and also B, get to share your art in front of RuPaul. So yeah, automatically, I was like, ‘F**k yeah, why not? What do I have to lose?’” she explained.
Lydia went on to explain that she “felt very lucky to be stressed with doing double time,” describing her Drag Race journey so far as “a whirlwind.”
“I feel like I’m in two different timelines at the same time. So it’s been a lot… late-night breakdowns do be happening, but I think I’m handling it pretty well. I’m keeping my head above water,” she explained.
She also revealed that All Stars 10 was filmed before she filmed the Lipsync LalaPaRuza and Grand Finale of season 17.
“So Lydia prepared looks for S17, filmed S17, prepped looks for AS10, filmed AS10 right after, then prepped and filmed S17 promos, then prepared looks for both S17 Lalaparuzas and finale and finishing filming AS10 and promos,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter following the cast announcement.
