Drag Race superstar Trinity K. Bonet has come out as trans. Trinity initially rose to fame on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2009, where she placed seventh, before before returning to compete for All Stars 6 in 2021, where she placed fifth.

Trinity took to social media over the weekend to initially hint at the news. She first posted a selfie in the back of a car on X (formerly Twitter) on December 15, accompanied by three emojis: a pair of hearts, a trans flag and a tongue emoji. The other hints? Trinity also posted an infographic to her Instagram Story detailing the characteristics of the ‘Aquarius Woman’ and posted another Instagram Story with the Snapchat username ‘Trinity Jones’.

In a statement to Out Magazine, Trinity clarified her string of social media hints, saying: “Yeah, I did come out [as trans]. Lol but I’m not trying to do interviews and make a big deal about it. I’ve always been Trinity. I’m just keeping wig on. Lol.”

Bonet is one of many notable RuPaul’s Drag Race alum who have publicly come out as trans in recent years. Others include Eureka O’Hara (season 9, 10, All Stars 6), Jasmine Kennedy (season 14), Gigi Goode (season 12), Willow Pill (season 14), Laganja Estranga (season 6), Detox (season 5), Amanda Tori Meating (season 16), Jade Jolie (season 5), Madame LaQueer (season 4), and Adore Delano (season 6, All Stars 2), who recently announced that they were dating The Voice alum Sasha Allen.
