Marlon Wayans has clapped back at Soulja Boy after the rapper used a homophobic slur in a since-deleted tweet. “If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander. Luckily he ain’t been relevant since 2007,” Wayans wrote on X on Wednesday.
Wayans’ response to the rapper came hours after the latter shared a screenshot of 2024 headlines about the actor embracing his trans son. Wayans previously revealed that his eldest child Kai, who he shares with ex Angelica Zachary, was transgender during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club” back in November 2023.
“My daughter Amai is now Kai,” Wayans shared at the time, explaining he was initially ignorant and in denial of his child’s decision to transition before he experienced “complete unconditional love and acceptance.”
“That f—-t shit run in the family huh @MarlonWayans no wonder u like dressing up as a bitch it’s in ur blood,” Soulja Boy captioned the photo on X.
Wayans tweet came two days after Soulja Boy called him out in a February 10 post, calling him a “b—-,” “not funny” and claiming he’s “selling [his] soul.”
The two have been involved in an escalating back-and-forth feud since Wayans called out the early 2000s rapper for trying to stay relevant during an appearance on 101.1 The Wiz radio show last month. At the time, Wayans joked that it didn’t matter if Soulja Boy got cancelled for performing at President Trump’s Inauguration ball on January 20 because “no one” cares about him and he hasn’t had “hits in years.” Soulja Boy responded to Wayans’ comments via X on February 10, writing, “Marlon Wayans you a bitch and u not funny shut up n—-a keep selling ur soul and sucking the higher up dicks.”
Wayans initially didn’t appear to mind firing back at his rival’s insults, as he didn’t shy away from cracking a few more jokes about Soulja Boy during an interview with TMZ that was published on Wednesday.
“If you’re gonna beef, you have to have a chest, that’s first and foremost,” Wayans quipped. “You gotta have more than two songs to beef.”
Wayans then compared Soulja Boy to a “crackhead” and “methhead,” saying that he needs one for a forthcoming Scary Movie film.
“I need someone that looks like a wet muppet … I want someone that look like they’ll sell your car, rob you, and suck your dick all at the same time. Soulja Boy!”
