With shorter days and a chill in the air, it’s time to cozy up with some films and TV shows.
Crave gets steamy with its highly anticipated gay hockey series Heated Rivalry at the end of November. On Disney+, Ryan Murphy delivers his latest drama, All’s Fair, starring Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close and Sarah Paulson.
The Canadian versions of two popular American reality shows make their premiere. After 16 years, Project Runway Canada returns with new host Coco Rocha, while Brooke Lynn Hytes searches for The Virgo Queen’s successor on Canada’s Drag Race.
On the film side, 2SLGBTQI+ supporter Pedro Pascal is heading to Disney+ with The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Paul Mescal’s gay period drama, The History of Sound, lands on MUBI and we’ll let you decide if it has similarities to Brokeback Mountain.
The end is also near for Netflix’s Stranger Things as the first part of the final season premieres.

The outlaws still have time to serve on their sentences and the criminal underworld isn’t done with them either. The money the group ‘accidentally’ stole is catching up with them, and the criminal underworld is tightening its grip.
NOVEMBER 17 – THE 2025 GILLER PRIZE CEREMONY
Hosted by Rick Mercer, the 32nd annual Giller Prize ceremony celebrates Canadian literature, honours the finalists, and reveals the winner of the $100,000 award. Eddy Boudel Tan’s The Tiger and the Cosmonaut is a finalist, check out our interview with the author.

NOVEMBER 20 – CANADA’S DRAG RACE
Twelve new larger-than-life drag artists will vie for the coveted title of Canada’s Next Drag Superstar. Competing for the crown are Dulce, Eboni La’Belle, Hazel, Karamilk, Mya Foxx, Paolo Perfección, PM, Saltina Shaker, Sami Landri, Star Doll, Van Goth, and Velma Jones. This season features the first Inuk queen, New Brunswick queen and Canadian AFAB (assigned female at birth) queen/king.
