What’s New And Queer In Streaming This May 2025

Need something to watch? Here are some 2SLGBTQI+ shows and films debuting on streamers throughout May 2025…

There is so much content to choose from these days that it can be overwhelming. Luckily, we’ve got you covered with 2SLGBTQI+ content and shows featuring your favourite queer stars.

This month there are documentaries featuring queer animals and 2SLGBTQI+ ally Charli XCX. There are new seasons of And Just Like That… and Nine Perfect Strangers, and two new series that showcase a bit of Toronto. Not to mention, RuPaul is back once again with some of our favourite queens.

Here’s what’s queer and streaming in May.

CBC GEM

May 29 – The Nature of Things: Animal Pride

In this documentary, naturalist Connel Bradwell explores how homosexuality and unique gender expressions are common throughout the natural world…even if we hardly ever hear about them. He challenges mainstream biology’s blindspot for queer animal behaviour, and celebrates the wild, wonderful, and downright sexy side of nature. This is Nature’s coming out story.

CRAVE

MAY 2 – Drag Brunch Saved My Life

Can we get an order of AMEN over here? From diners to steakhouses to bistros, Drag Brunch Saved My Life is high-energy and heart-forward. The new Crave Original series follows drag superstar Priyanka, along with a team of culinary connoisseurs including interior designer Crystal Westland, chef Mitchell Bright, and drag performers like Lemon, Tynomi Banks, and Xtacy Love. Over eight episodes, they’ll refresh restaurants and equip them with the tools they need to survive and thrive. Oh, and they’ll deliver an unforgettable drag brunch. The show will premiere with three delicious episodes and then be released weekly.

MAY 9 – RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10

Eighteen queens will battle it out in the “Tournament of All Stars,” for a spot on the Drag Race Hall of Fame. In this new format, queens will compete in three groups over three episodes each. They will accumulate points and those with the most from each bracket will move onto the semi-finals to battle it out for a spot in the finale. Returning queen include: Jorgeous (season 14, All Stars 9), Mistress Isabelle Brooks (season 15), Lydia Butthole Kollins (season 17), Denali (season 13), Cynthia Lee Fontaine (season 8, season 9), Ginger Minj (season 7, All Stars 2 and 6) and more. New episodes drop every Friday night.

MAY 23 – Pee-Wee as Himself

The HBO Original documentary is driven by a soul-baring interview with Paul Reubens, the man behind the iconic character Pee-Wee Herman. Pee-Wee as Himself is the definitive portrait of the comedic performer, and a window into his never before discussed personal life. Determined to correct the record and tell the factual story of his life, Reubens excavates his kaleidoscopic influences, origins in the circus and avant-garde performance theatre, and career choices. He also reflects on the reasoning behind, and the consequences of, severing his beloved alter ego from his authentic self.  Parts one and two of the documentary drop at 8 p.m. ET.

MAY 29 – And Just Like That…

They’re back! Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Seema (Sarita Choudhury), and Lisa Todd Wexley a.k.a LTW (Nicole Ari Parker) are once again navigating the complicated reality of life, love, sex, and friendship in their 50s in New York City. Season three of the Max Original series will be released every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.

MAY 15 –  Overcompensating

This Amazon Original series is a college-set ensemble comedy about the wild, chaotic journey of Benny (Benito Skinner/Benny Drama), a closeted former football player and homecoming king, as he becomes fast friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), a high school outsider on a mission to fit in at all costs. With guidance from Benny’s older sister and her campus-legend boyfriend, Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs. Deeply funny and personal, the show explores the lengths to which we all overcompensate while on the path to finding out who we really are. Plus, it was shot in Toronto! All eight episodes will be available at once.

MAY 22 –  Nine Perfect Strangers (Season 2)

Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by the mysterious Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself, and over the course of a week takes them to the brink. The new season features queer talent such as Murray Bartlett (Looking, The White Lotus), Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow) and musician King Princess. The first two episodes will premiere on May 22 and be released weekly until the finale on July 3.
