Bob The Drag Queen Says All Stars Is “For Losers”

Speaking to Harry Jowsey, the Drag Race winner changes his tune on competing again – even if it was an all-winners season…

With the finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 17 tomorrow, fans are already preparing for the biggest cast in RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars herstory. Season 10, debuting May 9, will be a “Tournament of All Stars” with 18 iconic queens competing. With the rumoured cast said to feature both first-time and returning All Stars, Bob the Drag Queen recently revealed he’ll likely never return.

“Going to All Stars is, no shade, but that’s for losers,” the season eight winner told the podcast Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey. “You go back when you’ve lost and I won.”

Bob did recognize the all-winners season, but revealed he wasn’t invited. He continued by saying, “In their defense, I was busy and I probably would have said no anyway.”

Bob’s views about competing on All Stars has been in constant flux. In 2021, he told Buzzfeed that if there was an all-winners season, he would compete. “I just love drag and I love competing,” he said.

On an episode of the Sibling Rivalry podcast the following year, Bob told co-host Monet X Change that he was not invited to participate, but was free. “I want everyone to know I was not busy. I literally just did not get a call. They did not reach out to me. So I want everyone to know: I was free as a bird with its tail in the breeze. I was helping Monet get ready, actually.”

There has been no official word on if a second all-winners season will happen, but even without Bob there is plenty of interest from past winners globally. Queens like Kylie Sonique Love (All Stars 6), Sasha Colby (RuPaul’s Drag RaceS15), Sasha Velour (RuPaul’s Drag Race S9), Kyran Thrax (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S6), Ginger Johnson (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S5), Carmen Farala (Drag Race España S1), Krystal Versace (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK S3) and Envy Peru (Drag Race Holland S1) have all suggested they’d be interested.
