The top four compete in the ultimate lip sync smackdown FOR.THE.CROWN…
Last week we said “au revoir” to another Canadian queen as Miss Fiercalicious made her exit from the competition following a Snatch Game/Rusical mash-up challenge. Lemon took top spot and became the only Canadian queen left in the race, so all eyes and all of the pressure will be on her in tonight’s finale. Joining Lemon in tonight’s lip sync battle for the crown is Cheryl from Drag Race U.K, Kennedy Davenport and Alexis Mateo, both from Drag Race (USA). Does Lemon have what it takes to bring the crown back home and become queen of the mother pucking world? Let’s find out!
Tonight’s episode begins in the werk room following Fiercalicious’s elimination. Lemon knows Fierce is shady, but hopes she understands why she did what she did in regards to her golden beaver choice last week. The queens read her goodbye message on the mirror before wiping it off and heading over to the couches to celebrate making it to the top four. They realize that the majority of the last queens standing were grouped together in the first week’s girl group challenge. Kennedy is feeling so thankful to be given one more chance at winning the crown and the other queens return the sentiment. It’s the last week to impress the judges and all four queens are feeling the pressure to make it right to the end.
It’s a new day in the werk room and the final four are feeling ready to take on the last week of challenges. All of the queens in the top four aren’t surprised about who has made it to the end, they all know they’ve played a fierce game and they all deserve to be there. Ru calls it in with another video message condragulating the queens on making it to the finale and tells them it’s time to set the stage on fire. Sarain Fox enters the werk room to tell the queens that for this season’s final maxi challenge they’ll all be competing in a lip sync smackdown, but before that they’ll each sit in for a royal portrait with an extra special guest.
Out on the stage the queens sit for their royal portrait and they’re being captured by none other than Ra’Jah O’Hara, the current reigning queen from the first season of Canada vs the World who is also dressed like a fabulous purple-haired Bob Ross. Ra’Jah asks each of the queens questions about their journeys in the competition and what it feels like to represent their countries in the finale. Much to the queen’s surprise, Ra’Jah actually does an amazing job with the beginnings of the paintings.
After all of the finalists have an inspiring chat with Ra’Jah it’s coronation day! It’s time to leave it all on the main stage and lip sync for the crown. Before the queens start getting ready they talk about what winning would mean to them and the logistics of them winning with who they get paired up to lip sync against. Lemon hasn’t had to lip sync at all this season and she’s ready to take it. In confessionals Kennedy says she doesn’t want to lip sync against Lemon since she’s her biggest competition. Cheryl asks the other queens if they think they should have played the beaver differently but they all agree they played it exactly how they needed to.
In front of the makeup mirrors they talk about how competing has felt this time around and how grateful they are for the Canadian cast and crew for the unforgettable experiences. They talk about their favourite looks of the season and what they love the most about the others as competitors. Out on the main stage Brooke makes her grand entrance and introduces the panel of judges. For the finale, Brooke is joined by Brad, Sarain, and this week’s extra special guest, season one winner Ra’Jah O’Hara! Before we get to the lip sync all of the queens from this season strut with their best “Crown Me” lewks.
We’re moved right into celebratory critiques starting with Cheryl. Brad tells her she’s completely blossomed throughout this competition and Brooke says watching her come into her own has been an absolute joy to watch. All of the judges love her completely golden look. Her portrait is revealed and she tells the judges and the other queens what being in the finale means to her which includes being able to prove to herself that she is a star. Next is Alexis. Brooke tells her she’s proved why she’s the mother of the house Mateo. Brad tells her she was an absolute fantasy every time she walked the runway and tonight is no exception. Her portrait is revealed and she says standing in the finale means power for her after the hard decision she made to come back and compete. Next Brad tells Kennedy she is drag excellence and what she does is art which Brooke echos. Sarain thanks her for being an inspiration for kids watching from the states and Ra’Jah tells her she looks amazing in purple. Kennedy’s portrait is revealed and she tells the judges standing in the final four feels like completion to her. Lastly, Brad tells Lemon her looks have been impeccable this season. Sarain tells her she can really do it all and Brooke tells her she’s proven that she deserves to be standing in the finale. Lemon’s portrait is revealed and she says she’s had to fight and keep pushing but this moment is the one she’s been waiting for her whole life.
As the queens untuck backstage they must discuss which of their sisters deserve the Miss Congeniality title. All of the divas reconnect backstage and catch each other up on the happenings over the past six weeks. Right away Fierce asks why the golden beaver wasn’t given to a Canadian queen last week and reveals the Canadian alliance to the rest of the queens. Lemon says she never agreed to the alliance and she played the game as fairly as she could. The queens share their thoughts on the top four and Le Fil tells Cheryl how proud they are of her that she’s in the finale. Overall it’s a sweet group of girls and they have to make their Miss Congeniality pick. Eureka immediately tells the queens why she deserves it and everyone moves down the line while each queen pleads their case as to why they deserve it. Back out on the main stage Ra’Jah presents the big $10,000 Miss Congeniality cheque to Eureka!
It’s finally time for the lip sync smackdown. Each judge has a box in front of them which contains a song for the lip sync. The queens who pick the same song will be paired together and the winners of each lip sync will compete for the crown. Lemon and Kennedy pick the same mystery song, so they’ll be competing against each other which means Alexis and Cheryl make up the other pair. Kennedy and Lemon are up first. They’ll be lip syncing to Hideaway by Kiesza. Both of these queens are fierce performers and they give their all in this performance. In the end the judges decide to advance Lemon to the next round, which means it’s the end of the competition for Kennedy Davenport. Next, Alexis and Cheryl lip sync to So Many Men, So Little Time by Miquel Brown. These queens waste no time with floorwork and outfit reveals. They match each other’s energy well but the judges choose to push Alexis Mateo to the final lip sync. Cheryl finishes in third place with Kennedy, but she’s feeling good about her run this time around.
It’s finally time for the final lip sync. Canada’s Lemon and America’s Alexis lip sync for the crown to Love Can Move Mountains by Celine Dion. It’s their last chance to impress the judges and prove they deserve the crown. Both queens want the title BAD and it’s obvious with their passionate and theatrical performances. After a quick deliberation the judges decide that the winner of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World Season two and the new queen of the mother pucking world is…Lemon! Bringing the crown home once and for all! A big true, north, strong, and fierce Condragulations to our very own!
