Kylie Minogue Made A Surprise Appearance During Madonna’s Los Angeles Celebration Tour Concert

The gay icons wowed fans by performing “I Will Survive” and “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head” at The Queen of Pop’s Celebration Tour in Los Angeles on Thursday night…

It finally happened! Kylie Minogue made a surprise appearance during Madonna’s ongoing Celebration Tour at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Thursday night (March 7, 2024). Madonna and Kylie performed a rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s 1978 classic “I Will Survive” to mark International Women’s Day and also performed a rendition of Kylie’s massive 2001 hit “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.”

Madonna introduced her special guest by telling the audience: “Now, this is what we call survival… I’d like to introduce a very special guest who is going to come up here and sing with me. Her name is Kylie Minogue.”

There have been rumours of collaborations between the two for years and the pair have always said that they wanted to perform together but just never got around to it – until now.

“It’s a privilege for me to be up here singing with you… God bless you, never give up.”

When Kylie walked on the LA stage last night she paid the ultimate tribute to Madonna by wearing a top emblazoned with Madonna’s name, a homage to when Madonna famously wore a top with Kylie’s name bedazzled across it when she performed at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Stockholm, Sweden in November 2000.

Following the performance Kylie shared a number of posts on Instagram, including a clip of her singing and dancing in the aisles as Madonna belted out her 1998 hit “Ray of Light.”

“MADONNA. It’s been a long time coming!!!” she captioned the video. “LOVED being with you!!!! Celebration Tour AND it is now International Women’s Day…. THANK YOU and LOVE LOVE LOVE.”

The surprise duet comes after Kylie recently said that she would jump at the chance to collaborate with Madonna. Speaking to New York’s 1035KTU radio station, Kylie said of collaborating with Madonna: “I would. Of course, I would! She’s going on tour. I don’t have Madonna’s number but if I was in town and she was in town it would be amazing. The building would probably fall down. We’d need to send our warnings!”

Thursday’s concert marked the third in Madonna’s five-show run at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Madonna’s long-awaited Celebration Tour kicked off at London’s O2 Arena on October 14, commemorating four decades of the superstar’s biggest hits. The tour will see her performing 78 shows in over 35 cities across Europe and North America, and is currently the tour is set to end in April 2024, in Mexico City.

Kylie wasn’t the only celeb to join Madonna on stage last night. Comedian and actress Ali Wong was the guest judge during the popular vogueing ballroom portion of the show.
