Watch The First Trailer For The Gay Royal Romance ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’

What would happen if the Prince of England and the son of the President of the United States embarked on a secret romance?

The trailer to one of the most highly-anticipated films of the summer is finally out. Prime Video released the official trailer for the upcoming film Red, White, & Royal Blue this afternoon. The film hits the streamer on August 11.

The R-rated gay romantic comedy is based on the New York Times best-selling novel by Casey McQuiston.

Prime Video’s Red, White, & Royal Blue is directed by Tony Award-winning playwright Matthew López. Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez star as the leads in the film. Zakhar Perez plays Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States (Uma Thurman) whose feud with British Prince Henry (Galitzine) turns romantic — and steamy and sexy and dramatic and cute.

“Separated by an ocean, their long-running feud hasn’t really been an issue, until a disastrous—and very public—altercation at a royal event becomes tabloid fodder, driving a potential wedge in U.S./British relations at the worst possible time. Going into damage-control mode, their families and handlers force the two rivals into a staged ‘truce,’” the film’s description reads.
