Nike's New BeTrue Collection Celebrates The Power Of The Team

Nike celebrates the LGBTQ community with the 2020 BeTrue collection…

Pride celebrations may look very different this summer… But, Nike is back with another celebratory BeTrue footwear and apparel collection. This year’s highly-anticipated collection celebrates the power of the team.

Every summer since 2013, the brand has released its BeTrue range of apparel and footwear celebrating diversity within sports.

This year, apparel and accessory options include a variety of logo tees, hoodies, shorts, buckets hats, bandanas, headbands, socks, sunglasses and a unisex shoulder bag.

The 2020 BeTrue footwear collection includes the Air Force 1 BeTrue (above, top left), the first AF1 ever to be featured in the BeTrue collection. The legendary silhouette features glossy, gradient details that are inspired by the New York City ballroom culture in the midv ’80s and a 10-colour heel mark inspire by the ‘More Colour, More Pride” flag that was introduced in Philadelphia in 2017. The Air Max 2090 BeTrue (above, top right) features asymmetrical detailing which diffuses the rainbow in a fresh way and follows the same energy of parade marches. And, the Air Deschutz BeTrue (above, bottom) is a fun, versatile sandal with rainbow colour details. The Pegasus 37 BeTrue is also included in the collection (image not shown above).

The entire Nike BeTrue 2020 collection in celebration of Pride month will be available throughout Greater China on June 5 and on June 19 in North America on nike.com, at select Nike stores, and select retailers. As with previous collections, Nike will donate a portion of BeTrue sales to organizations empowering sports in the LGBTQ community. This year, Nike is supporting more than 20 local and national organizations with a focus on advocacy in sports, creating safe spaces and elevating the history of the community.
