The out singer just released ‘Bloom,’ a catchy track about bottoming…
Troye Sivan has just released his brand new single ‘Bloom’ – complete with a lyric video created by 3D artist Jason Ebeyer. The video, which features a CGI version of Sivan, serves as the second official release from the singer’s forthcoming album.
Earlier this year Sivan spoke about the track with Popjustice, calling it, complete pop. Like: “Katy Perry Teenage Dream’ pop.”
“Lyrically I think it’s the most subversively queer song on the album,” he added. “I don’t even think it’s necessarily the big single or anything like that, but I really hope the song ends up spreading its wings way further than the people who wouldn’t normally listen to my music.”
Ahead of the video’s release Sivan released a teaser that said the track was about “flowers” but a tweet he posted shortly after midnight and then deleted confirms otherwise.
Lyrically, the song isn’t really about flowers, but rather about gay sex. Bottoming, to be exact.
Asked by Dazed if that was the true meaning behind the song, Troye coyly replied with a wink: “It’s 100 per cent about flowers! That’s all it is.”
