Radford won a gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics, becoming the first openly gay athlete to do so…

Canadian figure skater Eric Radford has won the gold in team figure skating at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea with pairs partner Meagan Duhamel. The win makes Radord the first openly gay man to win a gold medal at a Winter Olympics.

The duo skated an impressive routine early Sunday morning (February 11) to Adele’s “Hometown Glory” at the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung, South Korea.

“I literally feel like I might explode with pride,” Radford said on Twitter after the historic win.

Radford came out in an interview with Outsports shortly after the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Out American skater Adam Rippon took the bronze on Sunday, performing to Coldplay’s “O” and “Arrival of the Birds” by Cinematic Orchestra.

Retford and Rippon later posed for a joint photo celebrating their victories.

Congratulations boys!!!
