On the first weekend in March (March 1-3, 2024), The Enchanté Network hosted its first National Black 2SLGBTQI+ Futures Summit at the National Art Centre in Ottawa. The summit gathered together over 150 Black 2SLGBTQI+ leaders, trailblazers and changemakers from across the country for a weekend filled with joy, challenging conversations about the issues impacting Black 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians and opportunities to envision a future where Black queer and trans people thrive.

The conference was emceed by Dr. ABC and featured keynote addresses from Lady Phyll, co-founder and CEO of UK Black Pride, and Ravyn Ariah Wngz, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Canada and the Wildseed Centre for Art & Activism. Program highlights included the Back to Our Roots Kiki Ball with Cap City Kiki Ballroom Alliance as well as roundtable conversations and sessions on philanthropy and fundraising, international and local advocacy, Black 2SLGBTQI+ health, Black queer leadership and more.

The Enchanté Network is committed to connecting and supporting Black 2SLGBTQI+ movements from coast to coast to coast through its Back to Our Roots project, a project for and by Black queer and trans people that explores the organizational and community needs of Black 2SLGBTQI+ people across Canada.
