Content creators and advocates Scott Wabano and Kairyn Potts will host Rezervations for Two, which wrapped production this month…
There are plenty of dating shows to obsess over from Love is Blind to Perfect Match, The Bachelor to Love on the Spectrum. Next summer, APTN is putting a new spin on the television format with a Indigenous dating series.
Rezervations for Two, hosted by The Real Rank podcasters Scott Wabano and Kairyn Potts, is set to debut in June 2026. The series just wrapped production on its 13 episodes, filming in Winnipeg’s The Forks district.
The series features Indigenous singles looking for love. It mixes blind dates, big laughs and real connections. Its Instagram page calls it “the dating show that celebrates love, community and culture.”
“We want to see more Indigenous love, specifically within media,” Wabano tells Winnipeg Free Press in a joint interview with Potts. Wabano says a lot of focus has been on trauma and reconciliation, which is important, but notes there is also love and joy to be shared as well. “I feel like this show is really going to put a spotlight on that, really show our humour and show just what it means to live and date as an Indigenous person…”
The series is produced by Animiki See Digital Productions. The company produces Indigenous television and digital media content.
What is Rezervations For Two about?
In the series, contestants go on two dates in The Forks, a historic site in downtown Winnipeg. At the end of each episode they must make a choice about the person they’re with. “They decide who they want. Or they don’t choose anyone,” Potts says. “…that’s OK, too, because dating is chaotic and sometimes we don’t like anything.”
Wabano and Potts act as flies on the wall during each date. They watch the sparks fly – at least we hope – and provide advice, fashion tips or “sabotage support.”
“Scott and I interview an Indigenous single person looking for love, we find out who they are, where they’re from, who their cousins are — because that’s very important — and then we set them up on two different blind dates,” Potts continues.
In a casting call, posted this past spring, the show was looking for “aunties, uncles, and cousins of all gender identities and orientations.” It encouraged those 18 to 40 to apply.
