RuPaul’s Drag Race star Adore Delano and The Voice alum Sasha Allen took to Instagram to share that they are officially dating in a couple of heartfelt posts. Just a reminder: Delano competed on season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race (as well as season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars) while Allen competed on season 21 of The Voice.
“you teach me things with just a look in your eyeballs – you’re mine – i’m yours – let’s take over the world – i love you 💖🐾,” Delano captioned a set of photos on Instagram on December 1. Allen chimed in on his girlfriend’s post, writing in the comments, “my dream girl im in love with u.”
That same day, Allen shared his own set of photos on Instagram , leading with the same first photo, writing in the caption “my sweet adore, i am so lucky to love you 💌”
Delano first rose to prominence when she competed on season seven of American Idol in 2008, and then returned to TV in 2014 for season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. On Drag Race, Delano was Top 3 alongside Courtney Act and Bianca Del Rio, who won the season. Delano later returned to the Drag Race world to compete in 2016 on season two RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, but withdrew from the competition in the second episode. In a post shared with fans last summer, Delano publicly came out as a trans woman and detailed the relief and joy she felt by embracing her identity.
“I’ve found that it’s been very enlightening and has made me probably the happiest I’ve ever been in my adult life,” she said in the July 2023 Instagram video. “I’m living in my world now, and it feels so empowering and it feels so good. It feels so liberating.”
Allen is most well known for competing on season 21 of The Voice in 2021 alongside his father Jim Allen. They were on Ariana Grande‘s team and eliminated on the fifth week of live shows, just before the finale. Allen came out as trans man at the start of high school. He was the third openly trans person to ever be on The Voice and the first ever openly trans person to make it past the battle round to the live portion of the show. More recently, Allen has become a TikTok sensation, amassing a following of over 1.4 million.
