Watch This Heartfelt Conversation Between Two Advocates About Living With HIV

An inspiring and eye-opening conversation where Susan and Gabriel come together to share their personal journeys and experiences living with HIV…

ViiV Healthcare Canada recently sat down with two key advocate voices for a heartfelt one-on-one conversation. Susan Shumba spoke with Gabriel Jarquin to share personal stories and discuss crucial topics including treatment optimization, unmet needs within the community, healthy living with HIV, U=U, and the impacts of stigma.

Shumba is the coordinator of the POWER Project at PASAN and an International AIDS Society governing council member, while Jarquin is a competitive marathon runner from Toronto, a CANFAR national ambassador and HIV/AIDS advocate, and the president of the Pride and Remembrance Association.

“Isn’t it so interesting how people living with HIV today come from so many different backgrounds and walks of life?” says Jarquin in the just-released video.

“Totally. Each person’s experience living with HIV is distinct,” says Susan Shumba.

You can watch Susan Shumba and Gabriel Jarquin’s inspiring conversation below as they discuss their HIV journeys, addressing unmet needs, healthy living, U=U, and reducing stigma.

IN Magazine acted as producer on ViiV Healthcare Canada’s Voices Of Strength: Real Conversations On Living With HIV. The video was directed by Naphtali McKenly.
