Apple has released a new Apple Watch Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop, matching watch face, and dynamic iOS and iPadOS wallpapers in celebration of Pride…
In celebration of Pride and in recognition of the ongoing movement to protect and advance equality for 2SLGBTQI+ communities around the world, Apple has released a brand new Pride Edition Sport Band accompanied by a matching watch face and iOS wallpaper. The 2024 watch band is a vibrant braided solo loop that features a fluorescent design inspired by multiple pride flags, and features a laser-etched lug that reads “PRIDE 2024.”
Apple says that the 2024 band design is intended to evoke “the strength and beauty” of the 2SLGBTQI+ communities. The colours black and brown on the new braided band symbolize Black, Hispanic, and Latin communities, as well as those impacted by HIV/AIDS, while the pink, light blue, and white hues represent transgender and nonbinary individuals.
The 2024 Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, and is compatible with Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Series 4 or later.
Along with the new braided Pride band, there are also new Pride Radiance wallpapers available to download. On the Pride 2024 wallpaper for Apple Watch, the colours trace each numeral of the watch face and react in real time as the user moves their wrist based on input from the gyroscope. On the wallpaper for the iPhone and iPad beams of colour spell out “Pride” and dynamically move when the user unlocks their device. The new Pride Radiance watch face and iPhone and iPad wallpaper are available with watchOS 10.5, iOS 17.5, and iPadOS 17.5.
Of course, this isn’t the first year Apple has joined in on the festivities… they have been releasing new Pride-themed watch bands and watch faces since 2017 to help celebrate Pride month.
The 2024 Apple Watch Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop is available to order on apple.com and is also available at Apple Store locations across Canada and the U.S. for $129 (CAD). Customers can download the matching Pride Radiance watch face or Pride Radiance wallpapers for free through the Apple Watch app, on the Apple Store app, or at apple.com.
