Ricky Martin Says He Wishes His Kids Were Gay

He also wishes he could come out again…

In a new interview with ABC, Ricky Martin said that he wishes his two young children were gay and that it is a “very special thing” to be gay.

Martin spoke on ABC’s Popcorn with Peter Travers about the positive impact coming out had on his life saying he would relish the opportunity to be able to come out again.

“I wish I could come out again because it just felt amazing. And then after that, people coming to me and saying thank you so much for coming out. Because of you, I understand my father better. I understand my sister better. So it’s an important thing to do.”

As Travers praised Martin for coming out to the world, Martin then says: “I don’t know, my kids are too young, but I wish they were gay. It is a very special thing.”

The singer and actor publicly came out after becoming a father to his twin sons, Matteo and Valentino, in 2008.

Martin said that he wanted to persuade others to follow his example and not hide who they really were from the world. “The sensitivity, the way I see now, that I don’t have to hide in any way shape or form.”

He continued: “I see colors. And then you see the rainbow. I understand why the symbol is the rainbow. It’s just real. Everything is tangible. It makes me a stronger person.”
