Peace Collective’s Donor Hoodie: Made For Donors, Released At The Right Moment

Peace Collective’s Donor Hoodie celebrates blood and plasma donors with thoughtful design and arrives at a moment of growing inclusion for queer Canadians…

Peace Collective has partnered with Canadian Blood Services to release the Donor Hoodie, a cozy, red, donor-focused sweatshirt designed with zippered sleeves so people can give blood or plasma without taking it off. It’s warm, practical, and intentionally built for the donor experience. All proceeds from the hoodie go directly to Canadian Blood Services.

The piece is also connected to the Fall Get Together campaign, which encourages groups—friends, co-workers, teammates, and chosen family—to book donation appointments together. The hoodie is available for purchase through Peace Collective and can also be won by people who participate in group donations during the campaign window.

For queer Canadians, its release arrives at a meaningful time. In 2022, Canada shifted from sexual-orientation-based screening to a behaviour-based approach, meaning all donors, regardless of gender or orientation, are now asked the same questions. While the old policies caused decades of exclusion, the updated criteria mean many people who were once turned away can now donate safely and equally. Canadian Blood Services has also been making an effort to engage more directly with LGBTQ+ communities, including at Pride events.

A hoodie alone doesn’t fix history, but it does offer something simple and honest: a functional piece made for people who show up to donate, in a system that is finally becoming more inclusive. For new and returning queer donors, it can be a small symbol of participation at a time when many are choosing to re-enter a space that once excluded them.

Peace Collective’s Donor Hoodie is straightforward, thoughtful, and built around the act of giving—an easy way to support Canada’s blood system while celebrating the people who keep it running.
