What other movies have Charli xcx been in?
Charli has been slowly dipping her toes into the acting world. In an interview with Variety she told the publication her strategy was to start off with small ‘low-key’ appearances. “Everything’s been relatively small, and I’m enjoying learning about being on a set and learning from great directors and actors,” she told the outlet. “I hate it when musicians dive into a different field, head-first, without really researching or learning much of anything about it. So I did a lot of reading to educate myself over the past three or four years before I actually did anything.”
Charli hosted Saturday Night Live for its 50th season and made a cameo in the Benito Skinner Prime Video series Overcompensating as a fictionalized version of herself.
In September, she appeared at TIFF with two films at the festival. She starred in the American-Polish production Erupcja, which follows Charli’s character, Bethany, as she vacations in Poland with her boyfriend. In the film, she breaks away from her romantic itinerary and reunites with her old friend, Nel (Lena Góra). The pair rekindle a unique chemistry over the course of a few days.
She also appeared in Sacrifice, a satirical thriller about a celebrity environmental conference in Greece interrupted by eco-terrorists. The film stars Chris Evans, Vincent Cassel and Anya Taylor-Joy.
