Drag Queen Willam Is Taking Us To The Pole In A New OUTtv Series

The co-host of the podcast Race Chaser, is hosting a new competition series pitting male strippers against each other on the pole…

Our favourite disqualified Drag Race contestant is teaming up with OUTtv for a new series premiering September 16. Willam’s Dark Room Duel is a high-stakes competition that will see male strippers battle it out across seven episodes in themed challenges and performances. The group will vie for the inaugural title of King of the Dark Room and the chance to open for Willam on their next tour.

“I used to book and manage strippers back in the day, and still some of my best friends are strippers,” Willam told Deadline in 2024 when the series was announced. “Trust me, when it comes to taking off clothes I know what I’m talking about.”

Willam will serve as host and judge for the series. Along for the ride, the drag queen has invited working strippers to share their input and knowledge to contestants. Joining the judging panel are Mama Mamba (winner of Slag Wars season 2) and Meatball (Sloppy Seconds, Dragula).

No official trailer has been released yet, but clips were previewed in OUTtv’s September programming trailer. The trailer previews Willam’s outfits, the show’s set and a lot of skin. The series went into production last October.

Willam is no stranger to the small and big screen. They have starred in Nip/Tuck and the Lady Gaga film A Star is Born. Willam was also a “courtroom judge” on OUTtv’s Iconic Justice. The 2021 series saw Willam presided over wild conflicts between queer litigants, using wit, wisdom and shade.
