RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10 Episode 12: Tournament of All Stars Smackdown for the Crown

The top seven all stars, plus a wildcard, lip sync for the crown in a smackdown for the season 10 finale…

After last week’s elimination of Mistress following the talent invitational, we’ve finally made it to the finale of All Stars! Over the past 10 weeks we’ve been reintroduced to some of our favourite queens from seasons past and watched as they made it through bracket after bracket to get here, to the grand finale. Our top seven and the lottery wildcard will compete in a lip sync smackdown until there is one queen standing.

This week’s episode begins in the werk room shortly after Mistress’s elimination. Lydia has just sent home her mother. Over on the couches the queens congratulate Lydia on winning the lip sync and Lydia congratulates Bosco on winning last week but says she’s feeling conflicted because she knows how much Mistress wanted it. All of the remaining queens will do anything to win the crown, and everyone is gearing up for a fight in the smackdown.

It’s a new (and final) day in the werk room and our final seven are feeling rested and ready to take on their last challenge. Just as they talk about which one of their eliminated sisters could be coming back, the doorbell rings and none other than Kerri Colby walks through.

Kerri’s appearance has Jorgeous shaking in her thigh high boots a little, but in confessionals Kerri insists she’s over it. All of her mental strength needs to go to winning this smackdown. Ru enters the room and welcomes Kerri back to the competition. Ru also announces that Rate A Queen is back! The All Stars will have to rate their fellow queens from top to bottom based on who they think their biggest lip sync competition is. They’ll have to choose carefully, because their final ranking will determine who they’ll compete against.

The queens head straight to the mirrors to start their makeup. Lydia competed in a LalaPaRuza and Rate A Queen in her season, so she’s feeling a little nervous, but she also has a bit of an edge over the other queens. The rankings play a part with where they’ll be placed in the final bracket, so this ranking is really strategic for each and every queen. They go around the room and talk about how much drag has played a role in each of their lives and how much winning would mean to each of them. With the queens ready, the Rate A Queen booth opens and each queen locks in their ranking.

Out on the main stage Ru makes her final grand entrance of the season and introduces the judges panel. Tonight it’s just family with Michelle, Carson, and Ross joining her at the table. The queens enter in their smackdown looks and line up on the stage. They’ll face off in a series of seven lip syncs with one being crowned a champion at the end. Their combined Rate A Queen rankings have been calculated and the lip sync pairings have been determined. They’ll be competing in a seeded bracket, meaning the number one ranked queen will compete against number eight, two against seven, three against six, and four and five against each other.

Ru reveals the queen in the number one spot is Ginger. Ginger is competing against the queen in the number eight spot which is Kerri. To determine who will choose the song in each pairing, pit crew member Bruno will pick one of their balls out of a golden hopper. Whoever’s ball gets picked will choose the song. Ginger’s ball is picked, and she chooses Disease by Lady Gaga. Kerri and Ginger are both strong performers, so it’s not a surprise they put everything into this lip sync. Ginger puts a little more into it with floorwork, so Ru advances her into the next round.

For the next lip sync our number two queen Lydia B Kollins will be competing against the number seven queen Irene. Bruno pulls Lydia’s name out of the hopper, and she chooses Joy Ride by Kesha. The round two queens give their all to with reveals, acrobatics, drops, and stunts. Ru chooses Lydia to advance to the top four, thus ending Irene’s journey to the crown. For the third lip sync, the number three ranked queen is revealed to be Jorgeous who is facing the number six queen Aja. Bruno pulls Jorgeous’s ball and she picks Party Lights by Natalie Cole to lip sync to. Jorgeous and Aja are both certified lip sync assassins and they bring fast footwork, reveals, and flips to their electric lip sync. Ru advances Jorgeous to the next round, and sends Aja back to the werk room to watch with Kerri and Irene.

In our final lip sync of the first round our number four and five queens sisters Daya and Bosco are facing each other which has Daya emotional before the lip sync even starts. Bruno pulls Bosco’s ball out of the drum and she picks Show Me How You Burlesque by Christina Aguilera. The friends lip sync for their life. Bosco wows the judges with her outfit reveal, headdress twirling and floor work, while Daya brings the energy. Bosco advances and Daya heads backstage.

Round two begins with Bosco versus Ginger. Bruno picks Ginger’s name and she picks Raise Your Glass by P!nk. Both Bosco and Ginger put on a great performance, they both want that spot in the top two but Ru announces the winner is Ginger, ending Bosco’s time in the competition and sending her backstage. Jorgeous and Lydia are in the final lip sync of round two. Since there is only one song remaining, they’ll automatically lip sync to Whenever, Wherever by Shakira. They get down and dirty with body rolls, hairography, and lots of spinning. Ru reveals the other queen heading to the final lip sync is Jorgeous.

The eliminated All Stars head back out to the main stage to watch the final round. It’s Ginger Minj versus Jorgeous. They’ll be lip syncing for the crown to It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls. Neither of these queens are going down without a fight, and each of them have their moment to shine during the last lip sync. After a well-matched performance, reigning All Star Angeria Paris VanMicheals enters to pass the crown and scepter to the winner. Ru announces that the winner of All Stars 10, a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame, and $200,000 is… GINGER MINJ!
