Did Nymphia Wind Correctly Predict Her Drag Race Successor?

Did Nymphia Wind Correctly Predict Her Drag Race Successor?

Nymphia Wind stopped by The Pit Stop with host Monét X Change to recap the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race and shared who she thinks will take home the season 17 crown. Will she be right?

With her reign ending in two weeks, Nymphia Wind stopped by The Pit Stop with host Monét X Change to recap the latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Wearing a sponge headpiece with a face hole – a nod to Monét’s sponge dress and Joella’s mattress outfit – the queen gave her prediction on which of the top four queens she thinks will take the crown.

“It really comes down to the finale,” the drag superstar said. “I think the winner for me is Onya.”

Nymphia isn’t alone in her prediction either. Season Three winner Raja and All Stars Nine champ Angeria Paris VanMichaels also picked Onya Nurve to join them in the winners circle when they visited The Pit Stop.

Onya is the season’s frontrunner with the most Maxi Challenge wins at four and one bottom placement. Even though her track record should seal the deal, Season 16 runner-up Sapphira Cristál had the exact same standings. So, don’t count out Sam Star, Lexi Love or Jewels Sparkles from snatching the crown just yet.

Based in Ohio, Onya recently shared with Latrice Royale that drag isn’t her full time job, but that she is a cook with a talent for making smash burgers. Her love of performing started in high school and she received a BFA in Painting from the Cleveland Institute of Art.

On every season of The Pit Stop each guest is asked to predict the winner. Last season Sasha Colby picked Nymphia Wind, while Lawrence Chaney said she’d be happy with either Sapphira or Nymphia. For Season 15, Jaida Essence Hall, Raja and Jinkx Monsoon all called for a Sasha Colby victory – but we all knew that from the moment she walked in.

Next week the eliminated queens return for a lip sync LalaPaRuz, followed by the grand finale. Who do you think will be crowned the Season 17 champion?
