Founded by Scarlett BoBo and powered by Absolut Vodka, the annual Absolut Empire’s Ball celebrates the artistry and creativity of drag in all its fabulous forms! Now in its fifth season, Absolut Empire’s Ball has nine houses competing for a chance to win a cash prize of $10,000 and the title of Canada’s next Drag Empire. Experience the world of drag artistry as over 40 performers come together in a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and camaraderie.
The Absolut Empire’s Ball unfolds in three stages. First, there are two preliminary rounds on March 6th and 7th at The Drake Underground in Toronto, where all nine houses will compete. From there, six will advance to the semi-finals on April 4th at El Mocambo. Finally, the top three from the semi-finals will progress to the Grand Finale on May 9th at The Great Hall. Bath Haus
Composed of four of Toronto’s fiercest, funniest, and stuntiest gaggle of flops including Angëll Mörana, Mirana, Logan The Queen, and Haus Mother Rosie.
House of Dare
A vibrant drag collective, a unique blend of five artists, four drag queens and one drag bean: Ava Dia, Penny Martini, Bobby Jupiter, Elle Dare, and Styla Artois.
DreamHaus
Founded in our nation’s capital, consisting of four of the fiercest drag artists Canada has to offer: Bae Root, BJ Stroker, Ruby Foxglove, and Shea D. Ladie.
Frat Haus
Their original drag styles are all connected by one common theme: satirical toxic masculinity. The house includes: Stefan Fetamean, Andy Fetamean, Devery Bess, Coyote Ugly, and Archie Called.
House of Melanin
Out here to celebrate queer, POC joy. Each member has a different cultural background which means they can turn it all around the world. The house includes: Ocean La’Vodka Giovanni, Tygr Willy, Kuya Atay, and The Noise Witch.
Ni Haus
Absolut Empire’s Ball first ever all-Asian Drag Haus, ready to dominate the competition. The house includes: Phoenix Black, Destiny Doll, Star, and Lena.
O-Town Packers
Ready to show the world their skills after making their smashing debut at Capital Pride in Ottawa. The house includes: Miles Zinya, Ben Dover, Sir Racha and Jak Ammer.
House of UTI (Uniquely Talented Individuals)
With the renowned dancing diva Makayla Couture, the sweatiest clown in Toronto Rosacea Cheeks, returning season three champion Jelly, international club kid Bleu, and a face so white you’ll need to wear sunglasses Twinklet!
House of Venom
It isn’t just a name; it’s a symbol of their collective poison, injecting the drag scene with a potent blend of innovation, wit, and unapologetic fabulousness. The house includes: Nasty, Vyper, Zi, and Midas.
Season five judges include powerhouse performer, Manny Dingo. Lizzie Renaud, who has worked with international drag superstars for over ten years, Monty Tayara and Joey Viola of MoJo Toronto who present some of the most inclusive parties in Toronto. And Allysin Chaynes the first alternative performer to have a weekly position on Church Street. Returning co-hosts are Helena Poison and your favourite local girl, Ivory Towers.
