RuPaul's Drag Race Season 12 Finale Will Be A Virtual Lip Sync Battle

VH1 has ru-vealed that the RuPaul’s Drag Race May 22 reunion episode and the May 29 Season 12 finale have been shot virtually…

This week has been a big one for Drag Race fans with all the news coming out on the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 and the cast of Canada’s Drag Race, let’s not forget we have a season 12 queen to crown. And now, we know how Mama Ru is going to make that happen amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 12 Reunion will air as scheduled on Friday, May 22 (at 8:00pm ET/PT on VH1) was recorded with the dolls (except Sherry Pie) as a virtual slumber party hosted by RuPaul, which features conversations about life during quarantine, recaps of the season’s most shocking eliminations, and burning questions from fans.

Next up. RuPaul’s Drag Race will officially forgo its usual live finale spectacle and go digital: Season 12 will cap off with a “revolutionary” lip sync battle during a virtual finale that will air on May 29. How, exactly, they’ll pull that off is to be seen, but it apparently involves “innovative technology” that will “highlight the creativity of the queens.”

Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly and reigning Miss Congeniality Nina West will also be on hand to help anoint a new winner and Miss Congeniality, respectively, with additional appearances by “special celebrity guests.”
