Lando Calrissian, one of Star Wars‘ most popular characters recently reimagined by actor Donald Glover, is pansexual…
Ahead of the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story later this week the writers hinted that Lando Calrissian may be pansexual.
“I would say yes,” Jonathan Kasdan, who wrote the movie with father Lawrence Kasdan, told Huffington Post when asked whether the iconic character is pansexual.
“There’s a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee’s [portrayal of Lando’s] sexuality. I mean, I would have loved to have gotten a more explicitly LGBT character ino this movie. I think it’s time, certainly, for that, and I love the fluidity ― sort of the spectrum of sexuality that Donald appeals to and that droids are a part of.”
“He doesn’t make any hard and fast rules. I think it’s fun. I don’t know where it will go.”
A young Lando Calrissian will be portrayed by Donald Glover in the forthcoming prequel, but the role was originally made famous by Billy Dee Williams in 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theatres across the country on Friday, May 25.
