Join us for Under the Table’s takeover at the Davie Lounge on Sunday, July 30. Everyone is welcome to attend and witness the work of QTBIPOC poets. This event is a chance for disabled queers to be in a covid-conscious space this summer! Under the Table is a poetry collective centering disabled and/or queer poets. Masks are required for this event while not eating or drinking (N95 masks are recommended as they offer the best protection) and will be provided for anyone who does not bring one. There will be a first come first serve, designated seating area for folks who would like to take off their masks while sitting down, masks will still be required while walking around the venue.
Featuring Adonis Critter King and hosted by fanny kearse, sign-ups for this poetry slam are only open to Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. Share your words with an audience of your people and win prizes up to $250! Doors at 5:30 and show at 6 PM.
Sign-ups for the slam are required prior to the event and will remain open until Friday July 21. There will be a draw on the day of the event to fill the 15 slots open for the slam. Trans, Black, Indigenous, people of colour will be prioritized in the selection.
