JOY. SORROW. ANGER. LOVE. PRIDE, a celebration of Toronto Pride from the 1970s to the present through the lens of The ArQuives, is the first publication and exhibition celebrating the impact of Toronto Pride – throughout its long and sometimes turbulent history. The Magenta Foundation has proudly partnered with The ArQuives: Canada’s LGBTQ2+ Archive, in recognition of its 50th anniversary in 2023 and with Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.
Until now, the significance of Toronto Pride on acceptance and social development has never been seen on this scale. Incorporating photography, ephemera, posters and writings by community leaders, this publication and exhibition is the culmination of a three-plus year comprehensive research project led by Canada’s future emerging curators. An exhibition and celebration not to be missed!
