An HIV diagnosis is no longer a death sentence in most of the world, and significant progress has been made in the global fight to end the spread of HIV/AIDS since the height of the epidemic in the 1980s.

Thanks to advances in research, medicine and technology, those who receive HIV medicine early in their infection are living longer than ever before. People living with HIV, and the HIV activist community, have helped pave the way for drug improvements over the course of the past three decades.

We spoke with six different HIV-positive Torontonians who are looking to a future with improved treatment options. Watch the video below:
