Escape Canadian Winter in Sun-Kissed Miami

Attention Party People: Barcelona’s Circuit Festival Returns to South Beach November 28…

By Tony Roberto

Attendance at last year’s Circuit Festival Miami was 50% higher than originally projected it would be. Many of the weekend’ biggest events sold out, and desperate clubbers who thought they could buy tickets on the day-of the celebrations, ended up being turned away at the door.

Circuit Festival, the world’s biggest international gay event, returns to Miami this Thanksgiving weekend.  Beginning November 28th, thousands of men from around the gay globe will flock to the sun-drenched shores of South Beach for the massive five-night, four-day spectacular.

Produced by Luis Morera, Billy Kemp and Hilton Wolman, the men behind the popular Urge party brand, the gaiety begins Thursday night and continues through Monday morning with an incredible list of circuit talent including DJs Abel (Aguilera), Isaac Escalante, Taito Tikaro, Tom Stephan, GSP, Lydia Sanz, Ivan Gomez, Nacho Chapado, Ed Wood, Rick Braile and more.

The weekend’s biggest event is the La Leche Beach Party. This year’s party will be held at a new location on the sand and will include an incredible stage with 20+ dancers, music by DJs Phil Romano and Dan Slater, and a secret, surprise, live performance! We spoke with the party’s producers to learn more.

Is there a reason you chose to bring Circuit Festival party back to Miami this year?
Hilton Wolman: Yes, the weather. You can’t beat Miami weather in November.

How big of a crowd are you expecting for this year’s festival?
Hilton Wolman: We’re expecting twice as many people this year.  We sold more in the first week of sales than we did in the first month last year.

Where are all of these guys coming from?
Hilton Wolman: From as far afield as Australia, Russia, Southern Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Scandinavia…

Luis Morera: And of course, plenty of Americans and Canadians!

What’s new for 2019?
Hilton Wolman: This year, the city of Miami Beach is allowing us to relocate our beach party to an area east of the dunes, which gives us a bigger footprint. The extra space will be more comfortable and will give partiers a better view of the famous Miami Beach seascape.

Luis Morera: Saturday and Sunday night will be held in the massive Magic City Studios, located in the heart of Miami. We want every single person to feel that amazing “wow, that was incredible” feeling. That’s what creates real ties at a festival like this. The experience has to be so big that it touches everyone in their own way.

Is there anything you can do about the long lines at the bars?
Hilton Wolman: Yes!  We’re working to streamline the purchase of drinks at our larger events, utilizing credit card linked RFID bracelets for payment. This will reduce waiting times and hopefully eliminate lines to buy drinks and drink tickets.

Who is this year’s host hotel?
Hilton Wolman: The DREAM on South Beach. It’s part of the prestigious Dream Hotel Group and they are currently offering specially negotiated rates starting at just $146/night.

Anything to add?
Luis Morera: This year we’re introducing a beach trash pick-up event! Now we know picking up garbage isn’t exactly entertaining but doing good by actively participating in keeping the landscape as pristine as it was when we arrived is a fantastic feeling! A little soul food so to speak, to go with all the partying. We welcome anyone with big heart to come and help. It will be a great opportunity to take selfies, meet like-minded, caring individuals, and just having a good time.
