How quickly an unassuming night can turn into a nightmare. That’s what happened to patrons of a Calgary bathhouse on December 12, 2002, 13 years ago this month. Police raided Goliath’s Sauna in what many saw as an attack on gay rights. Charges against patrons were eventually dropped, but those who lived through the era won’t easily forget a time of raids-as-intimidation. Nor should they.
