RADIO BLAZE!

Among all the trailblazing moments in LGBT history, few match the morning Torontonians switched on their radios for a new day in media. On April 16, 2007, 103.9 Proud FM was born. It marked the first time an LGBT audience was served by a commercial broadcaster instead of a not-for-profit entity. As one publication declared at the time, “Ten years ago, they wouldn’t have had a chance.” Eight years on, the hits, as they say, keep on coming.
