Lady Gaga to appear in the Muppets?

The internet is abuzz with rumours that Lady Gaga will make a cameo in the upcoming Muppets movie.

The latest flick featuring everyone’s favourite puppets is being penned by How I Met Your Mother’s Jason Segel and is slated to hit theatres next Christmas. Other celebrity stars rumoured to appear in the film include Jane Lynch, Zach Galifianakis, and Amy Adams. Lady Gaga’s appearance is yet to be made official, but the singer is a huge Muppets fan, having kissed Kermit the Frog at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. And who can forget the infamous frog headdress?

Undertakers try to crack the gay market with erotic coffins

Caskets covered in homoerotic images of buff men (some nude) in athletic poses and graveside champagne toasts are just two of the services a funeral home in Cologne, Germany are offering in their bid for the gay dollar. The service is being offered by mortician couple Mike Königsfeld and Tom Brandl in attempt to meet the needs of their community. The couple has placed an ad reading: “Those who want a warmer, somewhat more fantastical departure, will find us to be a sensitive partner.” They admit a flamboyant casket isn’t for everyone. “Naturally there were some people who threw their hands up in horror when we had them on display in the window but they are tasteful and beautiful — like our customers,” Königsfeld told The Local, a Germany-based news outlet. Other funeral options include colourful balloon decorations and rainbow urns for those wishing to be cremated. “There is also a casket in rainbow colours, but I think it looks awful,” Brandl told The Local.

Glee bully talks gay kiss

MTV News caught up with actor Max Adler, Glee’s resident jock Dave Karovsky, after last week’s surprise kiss between his character and Kurt Hummel, played by Chris Colfer. Adler says he had no idea it was coming. “I was reading that scene, and Kurt, he just doesn’t let up. He keeps on me and he keeps on me, and I thought, ‘I’m going to punch him in the face. This is getting serious.’ And then I turn the page, and it says: ‘Karovsky kisses Kurt.’ And I was like, ‘What?’ I jumped off the couch. I was as shocked as anybody else was.” Adler says of his scene partner, “first time I’ve kissed a guy, and I’m glad it was Chris Colfer!”

Kodak to resume advertising during Degrassi

Officials at Kodak are insisting they will run ads again during Degrassi: The Next Generation on the US network Teen Nick. The electronic imaging company pulled ads during the teen drama last week. But Kodak insists this was because of a “planned pause” in its schedule, and not because of pressure from The Florida Family Association (FFA). Last Wednesday, FFA Executive Director David Caton claimed a victory, saying Kodak had received thousands of emails about “the program’s irresponsible content.” FFA is targeting other companies that sponsor Degrassi, claiming the show “targets teens with gay propaganda and other immoral behaviour.”

Anti-gay church group a no-show in Edmonton

The Westboro Baptist Church failed to follow through on its online threat to protest an Edmonton production of The Laramie Project this weekend. Hundreds of gay rights supporters came out Saturday night to counter-protest the US group. Most signs mocked the Westboro Baptists with phrases ranging from “Extremism is so last season,” to “God loves everyone, even if you’re straight.” Few were surprised the church group didn’t show up, its repeatedly failed to follow up on its threats to appear in Canada.
